A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to nonexistent addresses under the same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get email messages from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be exceptionally easy if you’ve got a Linux hosting service with us. You can activate the feature through our advanced, yet user-friendly Email Manager, which is part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll administer your account. You will find all the email addresses that you’ve set up listed in alphabetical order and next to each of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly reveal to you whether a particular mailbox stores all the messages for a given domain name or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature whenever you like. In case there is active email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you’ll get a warning from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically or without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will allow you to set up a catch-all mailbox easily even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you need to do to achieve that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you have created with your domains in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you’ve already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you do not want this feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
